!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! guy texted back and we are meeting sometime tomorrow afternoon. Part of me wants to end up hating it and to keep the 4Runner, but most of me hopes I love it. And my new phone (iPhone 6S 32GB) comes in soon!

My biggest automotive regret was when I chose a 97 Jetta GT over a 94 SC400 as my first automotive purchase, because REAL ENTHUSIASTS DRIVE A MANUAL.

That part of you who wants to end up hating it is like a part of you that wants to hate breathing. It’s not possible. That vintage of SC400 is a fabulous GT car, possibly the best of the era.

Good to know. I do love the car, but don’t know whether I will love it enough to give up the 4Runner.

Having the instruments appear out of the void when you start it up will make you want it more than you’ve ever wanted anything.

Wait, premium only? Seriously?

That is a great color. If I can nitpick though, I can’t stand those taillights. I swear they made a set without those little lines through them. That design has always bugged me for some reason.

I agree. I think my biggest gripe is the too-bubbly butt.

Hey I got some questions for you! I’m looking at maybe getting a 4Runner

What year is yours?

4X4?

Miles?

Any issues?

What do you and dont you like?

Sorry. And thanks!

Sure thing!

1995

Yes!

~223k

Pretty much everything squeaks on mine, but that’s probably normal; head gasket failure something to look for; mine leaks oil from engine and trans, nbd as long as you make sure they’re topped off.

Likes/Loves - The looks: seriously, I LOVE the way the 2nd-gen looks, especially mine (running boards and chrome fender trim have been removed);

Kinja'd!!!

the utility: this thing can haul a ton of stuff, even without the back seats folded down; the offroad ability: this thing has more than enough, even stock; character: you will fall in love with this car, trust me. There is a lot to love about it.

Dislikes/Hates - The gas mileage: I average about 12.5 mpg in mixed driving; this would be acceptable if the thing had 600 hp, but it doesn’t, bringing me to my next point, the power (or lack thereof): this thing came from the factory with the 150hp/180lb-ft 3VZ-E. It is slow. Very, very slow. And though it is not fast, my next issue is the brakes. They work, but not all that well. Mine loock up frequently, sometimes not even under hard braking, and even in the dry. Also, the inside is noisy, especially on the highway since this brick makes a lot of wind noise.

I say all this to say, are you crazy?! Of course you should get one! I love mine a lot, and I bet you will too. It is absolutely no problem!

Really appreciate it. There is something oddly appealing about the looks!

I found a 99 (third gen) for 2500 obo with 175k miles. Supposedly they don’t eat head gaskets as much.

Maybe gas mileage will be a bit better ? Hopefully.

I really want a truck of some sorts. And I know these are relatively bulletproof.

Going to drive it a little later.

I would recommend the 5VZ over the 3VZ (as would pretty much anyone with a pulse), but I still think you can’t beat the clean, pure lines of the 2nd-gen. Sounds like a good deal to me. Gas mileage should be better, but don’t expect anything spectacular. And yes these are fairly bulletproof given proper care and maintenance.

Funny. I was talking to Jordan (with the slow runner) and he said the same thing

I’m lucky to break 20 mpg on my car now. If I can manage about 15 or so i would be okay.

I don’t think they make 32GB 6S’s. Only the useless 16, then 64 and 128. Hopefully you’re getting a 64.

Oh yeah, those too. I’ve just never had to do one. Depending on how tomorrow turns out, I might not ever have to do one either.

I’ve only had my G5 for two months and I’ve used 20GB. Storage is my friend.
